OPAL AURA QUARTZ GEMSTONE JEWELLERY

Opal aura quartz, also known as angel quartz, differs from "normal" quartz in that it is largely synthetic. This does not affect its potency, but it does give it qualities that aren't seen in natural quartz. The iridescent colors of opal aura quartz come from being bound with platinum and, in certain cases, silver. After being heated to a high temperature, a clear crystal is exposed to platinum and silver vapor. This permits the metals to form atomic bonds with the quartz's silicon dioxide.
