Fine Jewellery & Watches: Closely linked with renowned watch making is the Swiss jewellery industry, based mainly in Geneva, Zurich, Lucerne and Berne. Fine jewellery and watches set with gemstones and music boxes are favourite gift items for foreign tourists. Basel Fair: The Basel World Watch & Jewellery Show organized by Messed Basel annually, is one of the most prestigious international gems, jewellery and watch fairs. It celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2002. Its tremendous popularity has resulted in so much crowding that it was bifurcated in 2003. A supplementary fair was held at Zurich. However,

the experiment misfired and on popular demand the organizers have restored a unified Basel World at Basel in 2004.
