Global Diamond Conferences: Since 2002, the HRD has been organizing Global Annual Diamond Conferences at Antwerp, which are attended by the top brass of the diamond mining and marketing sectors of the world to discuss in depth and detail major contemporary issue. The 2004 Antwerp Conference is scheduled to address the proliferation of synthetics.

Gemmological Services & Training: There are a number of independent gemmological labs: European Gemmological Labbratories, International Gemmological Institute, Antwerp Diamond Lab., Gemmological Institute of Antwerp and others. The High Council runs its own lab, using standards that have been adopted by the World Federation of Diamond Bourses as the international standards.

There are gems and jewellery training centres at Antwerp, Brussels, Latria and Mare sons. Many polytechnics have gems and jewellery training facilities.

International Extravaganza: Every four years, Belgium officially holds a unique exhibition 'From the Treasury' in Antwerp. In this superb expo, overseas treasures of priceless gems and jewellery as well as art masterpieces are displayed.
